To level up in Toons Universe, earn XP by completing machines, using abilities, handling floor events, and healing teammates. Only the agent you are currently playing receives that experience. Combine several XP activities each floor to work toward Malachor, stickers, and the emblem awarded at level 100.

Earn XP from several actions each floor

Sera’s Things’ XP guide and the community wiki’s Experience page agree on the basic rewards below. The wiki additionally lists once-per-floor limits for healing another player and repairing a blackout.

ActionXP earnedHow to use it while leveling
Complete a normal or main machine/computer10 normal; 20 mainFinish objectives throughout the floor; neither has a listed XP cap
Activate your ability10 per useThe first three uses each floor award XP, totaling 30
Heal another player with a Bandaid or Medkit20The wiki lists one rewarded heal per floor
Repair the breaker box during a blackout15The wiki lists one rewarded repair per floor
Pick up a fuse during an elevator breakdown15 per fuseCollect available fuses; no per-floor XP cap is listed

A main machine gives twice the XP of a normal machine per completion. That does not establish that it is twice as efficient per minute: access, completion time, and nearby enemies still affect your progress.

Use this checklist during a run:

  • Play the agent you want to level. XP earned on another agent will not advance that character.
  • Use your ability while completing objectives. Aim to collect its three rewarded activations when practical.
  • Finish available machines. Keep main machines in mind for their larger completion reward.
  • Take event opportunities. Collect fuses or repair a blackout when those situations appear.
  • Heal an injured teammate when useful. The listed healing reward applies to helping another player.

Three rewarded ability activations and one normal machine total 40 XP. Add a main machine completion and that becomes 60 XP, before any chase, healing, or event rewards. This is an example of combining activities, not a guaranteed floor payout.

Choose a leveling approach that fits your agent

Sera’s Things recommends solo runs for leveling because one player can complete the available machines and handle events without sharing those opportunities. This is particularly useful for agents focused on extraction.

For an extractor, build your routine around ability activations, normal machines, and main machines. Collect event XP when available. Avoid extending a dangerous chase just because it might award experience.

For fast agents such as Phantasia or Fizzle, the same guide recommends combining ability use with sustained chases, then returning to objectives. Solo play can give these agents access to machine XP as well.

Treat solo play as a strategy recommendation rather than a guaranteed speed increase. A team offers opportunities to heal other players, and your ability to survive and finish objectives matters. Choose the setting where you can reliably perform rewarded actions.

Understand the conflicting chase XP figures

Chase XP is the main point where the public references disagree.

Sera’s Things describes a sequence awarding 15 XP after the first 15 seconds, another 20 XP over the next 15 seconds, then 25 XP over the following 30 seconds, and 30 XP over the final 30 seconds. That totals 90 XP across 90 seconds, after which the guide recommends disengaging and finding an objective.

The community wiki instead lists 8, 10, 12, or 15 XP for 30 seconds of being seen by Infecteds, with a note that losing them can reset the timer. It does not explain how those four values are selected.

These descriptions should not be combined into one formula. A current official resolution of the discrepancy has not been confirmed. Watch your actual XP gains before planning a leveling route around a precise chase duration.

Plan around level milestones

The community wiki documents rewards every ten agent levels and lists level 100 as the maximum. Early milestones include 50 Malachor at level 10 and 75 Malachor at level 20. Agent stickers arrive at levels 30 and 60, while level 100 awards an animal-specific emblem.

The wiki also lists 5,819 total XP to maximize an agent. Using only machine completion rewards, that corresponds to 582 normal machines or 291 main machines, rounded up. Mixing abilities, events, healing, and chases reduces the number of machine completions needed.

All agents share the wiki’s documented XP requirements, but their strengths affect how comfortably they earn that experience. Pick your next milestone, keep playing the agent it belongs to, and combine the rewarded actions you can complete consistently.
